Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-29
These terms govern your use of 1cost, a cloud cost-analysis tool operated by CuliOps. By signing in or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are and what this is
1cost is operated by CuliOps, a small team based in Vietnam. The service connects to a cloud account you authorize, reads usage and cost data, and surfaces findings about resources that may be wasting money. Today the service supports Amazon Web Services (AWS). Support for other cloud providers is on our roadmap; where these terms say "your cloud account", they apply to whichever provider we support at the time you connect.
2. Beta
The service is in beta and provided free of charge during this period. It is provided "as is": we may change, pause, or discontinue features, and we do not offer a service-level agreement or uptime commitments. We will give reasonable notice before ending the beta for active users.
3. What you need to use it
- A cloud provider account that you own or are authorized to connect.
- A GitHub or Google account to sign in. We do not collect your cloud credentials at sign-in.
- Authority to grant the read-only role or credentials we request. You confirm you have that authority when you connect an account.
4. What we do, and what we do not do
We use read-only access to describe and measure resources in your account. We never make changes in your account, and we do not read the contents of your data (for example, object storage contents, secrets, decrypted keys, database rows, or log bodies). We surface findings and recommendations; you decide what to act on and make any changes yourself.
5. Your responsibilities
- You act on our recommendations at your own discretion and should verify them before making changes.
- Any cost your cloud provider charges in your own account for the API calls we make is billed to you. We show you an estimate before you enable scans.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in account secure.
6. No guarantees about findings
Findings and savings figures are best-effort estimates derived from your cloud provider's API responses. They are not financial, tax, or engineering advice, and we do not claim to find every source of waste. You are responsible for confirming a finding applies to your situation before acting on it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not connect accounts you do not own or control, attempt to access other customers' data, or interfere with, attack, or overload the service.
8. Intellectual property
The service, including our software, remains our property. Our CloudFormation template is open source under its stated license. Your account data and the findings we generate for you remain yours.
9. Termination and revocation
You can stop using the service at any time and revoke our access immediately by removing the read-only role (for AWS, by deleting the CloudFormation stack). Revocation takes effect at once; we do not attempt to regain access. We may suspend or terminate access for abuse or violation of these terms.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and CuliOps is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for actions you take in your own cloud account based on our findings. Because the service is currently provided free of charge, our total liability is limited accordingly.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and notify active users by a reasonable means.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam.
